The Concept

 

 

After the death of my mother in 1995 and the turbulence before and after, the decision to dedicate the rest of my life to a more effective fullfillment of dreams, was not a difficult one. Life had given me more than my share of hardships and I almost considered the rest of it as a longawaited bonus. The demands of society became less and less interesting and the gateways into even more developed imaginary worlds seemed to open up and suggest pathways into ideas concerning not only painting and art, but also music, poetry, film and exciting new (at least for me) combinations with natural sciences, psychology, philosophy and various other subjects.

At that time a number of longtime visions and ideas were starting to come together within the concept Oneiric World (The World of Dreams) meant to be a meetingplace and blissfull playground for my own projects and others.

The readings of the french philosopher and psycologist Gaston Bachelard gave me the name : Oneiric World, Oneiros beeing the God of Dreams in Greek mythology.

Starting out as more or less a pragmatist, Bachelard ended up writing a number of breathtakingly beautiful books in which he tries to close in on what we call the reality from the standpoint of a psycology inspired by his research into the realms of refined emotions and altered states of mind.

If sometimes his theories seems hard to follow, his books can often be read as pure poetry, in some aspects maybe related for instance to some of Francis Ponge´s work.

My wish is that this website will be the first stage in an atempt to establish contact between kindred souls all over the world and find possibilities for exciting new projects !
