The Private Collection of Bengt Bartholdsson

Bengt residing between two of my oils in the suite "I can hear the water dream.." images inspired by the Japanese composer Toru Takemitsu.

New neighbours can be an ordeal; but we were blessed and enrichened by having Bengt moving in next to us. He is the kindest of souls, a psychiatrist by profession and a lover of art and gardening in his sparetime. Our discussions often takes place over the fence, a true blue-green beauty…Bengt frequently comes back to that, our joint venture.."Peter, don´t you think we should be truly satisfied..? and I can´t but agree, it not only divides our gardens from each other; it also ties them together.

Bengt took an early interest in my art and has during the year bought a number of my painting and has tried to help me out with contacts.

In his beautiful home : a carefully renovated villa from the early 20th century; my friend Bengt Bartholdsson upholds a minor collection of very fine art . Beside his occupation as a psychiatriast, he also at occasions sell and buy paintings and prints. I have the honour to be in company of distinquished artists such as; Raoul Rauschenberg, Edward Kienholtz, Jonathan Borofsky and David Hockney.
